BEING HOMOSEXUAL WILL BE OUTLAWED ONCE IT GOES OUT OF FASHION

I have recently been working in Dublin. Late one afternoon I took a taxi to the airport. The radio was blaring into the back of the car. I had missed the topic of discussion but listened to the presenter reading out e-mails. The first read:

“I agree with your guest who found it distasteful to watch a homosexual couple canoodling on a train. I too watched a couple doing the same yesterday, except that one of them was a woman. I didn’t enjoy it. However, I also have to admit that I lead a rather joyless life, so this could account for my reaction”

The presenter made no comment and moved onto the next e-mail.

“Being homosexual will be outlawed once it goes out of fashion, which will probably be soon”.

The presenter was now laughing. He said that this view was ridiculous, and that being homosexual would never go out of fashion as animals were also homosexual, so proving it wasn’t a fad.
